Increasing cloud amounts will bring the chance of some showery rain around midday, then outbreaks of heavier, persistent rain towards evening. Strengthening North-Easterly winds. Latest model data indicates that the worst of the forecast rain will now miss Essex. There is still some uncertainty with timing, but the heaviest of the rain is set to arrive this afternoon and into the evening across Southern districts. It it possible that Northern Essex may stay dry until after dark.

Weather in Southend-on-Sea

A graphical 5 day forecast is presented for Southend-on-Sea and is based upon the latest run of the ECMWF computer model. Updated twice daily, this outlook provides a detailed view of temperature, rainfall and expected weather conditions for the local area.

Our text and hourly forecasts are updated throughout the day by our in-house team of meteorologists and include the latest output from the Met Office UKV and Euro4 numerical weather prediction models. These kilometre-scale forecasting models produce significantly improved Southend-on-Sea forecasts and pinpoint small scale features such as thunderstorms, fog and snow.
