Chief Forecaster's Commentary

Unstable air is spilling into the region from Northern France, this will lead to a band of locally heavy rain to develop across Essex this morning. This should clear by early afternoon to leave a spell of dry and sunny weather.

Overnight into Saturday, another development over the Southern North Sea brings the possibility of some lively thunderstorms into our area. There will be updates on Twitter throughout Friday.
