The Essex Weather Centre was established in July 2009 to provide a genuine alternative to automated, computer-driven weather forecasts which are added to every Essex news web site and portal online.

Our web site is run by meteorologists and professional forecasters who are based in Essex and we go a step further than the normal 'one sentence' or 'graphical' 5, 7 or 10 day forecasts seen elsewhere by providing severe weather advisories and health-related alerts for 45 towns across the county.
